The Third Wish

Imagine that you saved an animal and it told you have three magical wishes and your first wish is to have the most beautiful wife that ever seen. What would you do with the two other magical wishes? This short story “The Third Wish” was written by Joan Aiken and has a romantic plotline.

First off that the Mr.Peter is a lonely man that the lives in the forest by himself which is technically is mild conflict. When Mr.Peter saves the swan and he gets the three magical wishes, his first wish is for a beautiful wife. Which then later on he wishes her back to a swan to see her sister which is a swan, because Mr.Peter’s doesn’t want her to suffer, that does lead to life affiming symbolism. Finally the plotline is romance and does end in a happy ending with the old man in the bed with his wife’s feather and the last magical leaf.

The third wish is a short story that leads to the old man making himself look like a fool because his wife is a swan and has a romance plotline and ends in life affiming symbolism. Joan Aiken wrote this fairy tale and was very well written short story that is has a romance plotline.
